Quiet ears. Clear voice. Any radio.
Talk headset to headset. No radio, no tower.
Headset Mesh carries its own sub-1GHz radio. Every headset on the network relays for the others, so the crew stays connected when one link drops.

You cannot judge noise cancellation from a spec sheet.
One recording, two ways: the raw camera audio, then what the headset captured.
Same recording, same microphone, cancellation off and on. Use headphones.
Three layers of silence.
Each layer handles what the others cannot. Then we put it on the same rig as the headsets you know, and every number comes off the curve.
Active Noise Cancellation
Microphones detect background noise and the headset generates opposing sound waves to cancel it. Most effective against the steady low and mid frequency noise of cockpits, industrial sites and cities.

Passive Noise Cancellation
Sealed ear cups and sound-dampening materials block outside noise before it reaches your ear. No power, no processing, and it covers the frequencies active cancellation struggles with.

Environmental Noise Cancellation
The other two protect your ears. This one protects the person listening to you. ENC strips background noise out of what you transmit, so radios, phones and connected devices receive clean speech.
QHR with ANC against 3M® Peltor®
Where engines and rotors live, 50 to 500Hz, QHR is about 7dB quieter, and the Peltor® cup resonates near 120Hz. Peltor® is about 7dB quieter from 1 to 3kHz, the voice band.
Tuned like headphones people buy for music
Blocking noise is half the job. What you hear should sound right. QHR tracks Apple® AirPods Max® within 3.3dB from 100Hz to 1kHz.
Talk and it transmits. Noise does not.
Intelligent VOX keys your radio when you speak, hands-free, and keeps it shut when you do not. MLVAD, on the headset, decides what counts as a voice.
How a hands-free transmission works
-
1
You speakThe boom mic hears everything around you: your voice, the engine, the wind, the crew. -
2
It checks every soundBefore anything is sent, MLVAD decides whether each moment of sound is a human voice. Saws, sirens and gunshots are flagged as noise. -
3
Only your voice goes outIntelligent VOX keys the radio on a confirmed voice, and environmental noise cancellation strips the background from what you send. A tone marks the start and end of each transmission.
- Hands-free Triple-click PTT to turn Intelligent VOX on or off. A voice prompt confirms which.
- Push to talk Hold PTT to transmit, let go to stop. For when you want the button.
- On every model Push to talk and Intelligent VOX come on every headset. MLVAD comes on Headset Pro and Headset Mesh. Headset and Headset Tactical use voice activity detection.
One engine, two stages
-
1 Acoustic analysisSignal processingMeasures every moment of sound against a profile of the background. When energy rises in the bands where speech lives, it flags a possible voice. Fast on steady noise: engines, rotors, wind.
-
2 Deep learningNeural networkA trained neural network scores each slice of sound for how much it sounds like a human voice. It catches the sudden noise the first stage cannot: sirens, impulse, saws, crowds. -

PS-0116 · Open end, five wiresHirose on the headset end, five colour-coded wires on the other. Match each wire to your radio's connector using its manual. Not sure? Have a radio technician wire it.

Wear it the way you work.
QHR fits 3M® Peltor®-style mounts, so it clips onto the helmets and hard hats crews already wear. Prefer a dedicated mount? Pick a headband, ARC rail, COM RAC or hard hat mount.

Standard over-the-head band. Wear alone or under a helmet. Lightweight and built to stay secure through a full day, and the default for anyone not working in a helmet.

Mounts to Ops-Core® ARC rails and compatible helmets. Keeps the profile low and the weight off your neck without adding a second headband under the shell.
Rail arms for ComTac-pattern helmet setups. Drops into the mounting hardware teams already run, so a crew standardized on ComTac keeps its existing kit.

Clips into standard 30 mm hard hat slots. Works with the helmets crews are already issued rather than replacing them, so site safety requirements stay intact.
Record every detail, exactly as you hear it.
The 3.5mm audio out sends everything the headset hears straight to your action camera. Radio traffic, phone calls and Bluetooth® audio are mixed together, so your footage carries audio that matches the visuals.
Headset Mesh, two radio ports: two radios and a camera on one headset.
Plug a camera into the headset and it records what you hear: your voice, the radio traffic and the call, clean of the noise around you.
Any camera with a 3.5mm mic input works.

- DJI Osmo Action
- Insta360

A headset you have not heard yet.
Buying a headset you have not heard is a real risk. Here is how we cover it.
Questions people actually ask.
Almost certainly. 498 radio models. 16 radio brands. 12 radio cables, including an open-end cable for anything else. Most brands need one cable. ICOM needs two depending on the model, Motorola three and Yaesu four. Pick your brand and model in the configurator and the right cable ships with the headset. The radio coverage section shows each plug and its wiring so you can check it against your radio.
Headset is the core: -24dB passive, -16dB feedback ANC, voice activity detection with Intelligent VOX, one radio port and a 2200mAh battery. Headset Tactical keeps Headset specs in a tactical form factor. Headset Pro adds -20dB hybrid ANC, machine learning voice detection (MLVAD), automatic transparency mode, two radio ports and a 3600mAh power bank. Headset Mesh adds the same plus a sub-1GHz mesh network between headsets. If you run one radio in steady noise, Headset covers it. Every model has Intelligent VOX, and any model can add the MMCX earbud port for $80.
No. The headset works over Bluetooth® on its own and you can order it without one. But to connect it to a radio you need the cable that matches your plug type, and buying it together saves a second shipment.
Order the open-end cable, PS-0116. It has the Hirose plug on the headset end and five colour-coded wires on the other: green Speaker +, red Mic +, gold PTT, blue Speaker - and black Ground. Match each wire to your radio connector using its manual, or have a radio technician wire it.
Pick your brand in the radio coverage section. Each cable shows a to-scale drawing of the plug, what to check (how many plugs, the spacing between them, how many contacts) and the full wiring. The downloadable cable guide has the same drawings for every cable plus an index of every supported radio.
Yes. There are cables for ICOM and Yaesu aviation handhelds and a general aviation cable with standard PJ-055 headphone and PJ-068 mic plugs on a Y split. Ham handhelds from Baofeng, Kenwood, ICOM, Yaesu and the other listed brands use their brand cable, and the open-end cable covers the rest.
On Headset Pro and Headset Mesh, yes. Both have two Hirose radio ports, each taking its own cable. Headset and Headset Tactical have one.
Intelligent VOX keys your radio when you speak and keeps it shut when you do not. Triple-click PTT to turn it on or off, and a voice prompt confirms which. A tone marks the start and end of each transmission. It is on every model.
Yes. Hold PTT to transmit and let go to stop, on every model. Use VOX when your hands are busy and PTT when you want the button.
MLVAD, Machine Learning Voice Activity Detection, runs on the headset in two stages. Acoustic analysis flags sound that rises in the bands where speech lives. A trained neural network then scores it for how much it sounds like a human voice. A confident voice keys the radio through Intelligent VOX. It detects voice with 95% accuracy. MLVAD is on Headset Pro and Headset Mesh. Headset and Headset Tactical use VAD, and every model has Intelligent VOX.
Consumer ANC is tuned for steady low-frequency noise like cabin hum, and its microphones are tuned for quiet rooms. This is built around voice activity detection so your transmitted voice stays clean at 95dB SPL, with a hardware radio connection consumer headphones do not have.
Headset Mesh links headsets to each other directly over sub-1GHz radio, with no handheld radio in between. Range is up to 300 m in a city and up to 3 km in the open. It is only on Headset Mesh.
It lets you plug your own MMCX in-ear buds into the headset, for roughly -20dB more in sustained noise. It is an $80 option on every model, picked when you order. The port is fitted at the factory, so it cannot be added later. Earbuds are not included.
Headset and Headset Tactical have 2200mAh, enough for a full working day. Headset Mesh has 4400mAh. Headset Pro has 4400mAh plus a 3600mAh power bank.
Yes, over Bluetooth®, for calls and audio.
Yes. Any camera with a 3.5mm mic input works. We have tested GoPro, DJI Osmo Action and Insta360.
All four ship Q2 2027 and are sold separately, so there is nothing to decide today. Headband is the standard over-the-head band and works alone or under a helmet. ARC Rail mounts to Ops-Core® ARC rails and compatible helmets. COM RAC gives you rail arms for ComTac-pattern setups. Hard Hat Mount clips into standard 30 mm hard hat slots. The mount interface is the same across every QHR headset, so one bought later fits a headset you already own.
Headset ships now, with or without the MMCX port. Headset Pro ships Q1 2027, Headset Tactical Q2 2027 and Headset Mesh Q4 2027. Mounts ship Q2 2027.
Yes. Use it in your real environment for 30 days first, then start a return between day 30 and day 45 after delivery. The complete kit comes back in its original packaging, and there is a $95 return fee. Unopened radio cables and mounts can come back any time up to day 45 with no fee. $1 pre-orders are fully refundable any time before your headset ships. Full terms are on the Returns page.
